CROSS COUNTRY ENDORSEMENT
Overview: Up to 10 consecutive half-day training blocks full-time (part-time options available).
Are you ready to explore Australia? Our Cross Country Endorsement is designed to equip you with the navigation and flight planning skills required to confidently undertake new and exciting adventures in an aircraft.
Having obtained your Recreational Pilot Certificate, the next stage in your flight training process is the Cross Country Endorsement. You will learn how to navigate by “deduced reckoning” allowing you to expand your horizons beyond the 25 nautical mile range of your departure airport. In this course, you will plan and execute several flights to outback airports and even some remote cattle stations to challenge your skills.
Like all of our courses, the Cross Country Endorsement is designed to be completed in a short period of time to promote the ideal learning environment and outcomes. Our fully immersive courses lead to higher retention and learning rates and allow our experienced instructors to tailor the amount of training to best suit you and your learning style.
- What can you do?
- Fly a single-engine RA-Aus registered aircraft*:
- Up to 600kg
- Up to 2 seats
- Day time only
- Anywhere in Australia! (except controlled airspace – this requires an Recreational Pilot Licence (RPL) with controlled aerodrome/airspace endorsement)
*Please note your RA-Aus Cross Country Endorsement is transferrable to the CASA RPL as long as you have 5 hours of solo navigation logged. This means you can enjoy flying beyond 25 nautical miles in a heavier (generally up to 4 seat) aircraft when you complete the RPL.
How old must you be?
While you can learn to fly from any age, you cannot go solo before you are 15. As a result we don’t recommend that you conduct many lessons before the age of 14.
What are the medical requirements?
Your medical health should be of the equivalent to hold a private motor vehicle license. If you are over the age of 75 or have other certain medical conditions you may require a letter from your GP. If you’re unsure please contact us.
