Iconic certified single-seat aerobatic monoplane offered for sale for the first time in NZ. This 1992 aircraft has been winning aerobatic competitions and wowing airshow audiences in New Zealand since 2003. The Zlin Z50LS is the most bang for your aerobatic buck. Current owner has moved on to a two-seat Extra.

300hp, +8G/-6G, cruise 130 knots, Vne 177 knots, Vs 56 knots, smoke system, as easy to land as a Piper Cub
Airframe 994 hours, Lycoming AEIO540 engine, 1102 hours (bulk strip at 989 hours), new oil hoses March 2022, MT propeller 113 hours
Annual due September 2025, BRA due September 2026 The airframe has 200 hours to run in NZ; that’s a lot of aerobatic sorties. At that point it can be sold to the US or South Africa where the aircraft is on the Experimental/Amateur built register and can be safely operated well beyond the 1200-hour airframe service life. Alternatively, there will be at least $60,000 of value in the engine, propeller and avionics at 1200 hours which makes it very cheap aerobatic flying in interim.
