Our tailwheel course is one of a kind!
TAILWHEEL ENDORSEMENT
Overview: Full-time – Up to 3 consecutive days (part-time options available).
Tailwheel or conventional undercarriage aircraft training is our speciality. Collectively, our flight instructors have tens of thousands of hours operating tailwheel aircraft and we are passionate about sharing our knowledge and skills with you.
-
Learning to fly a tailwheel aircraft is for any pilot aspiring to improve their general flying skills.
The operation of a tailwheel aircraft will assist pilots in the following areas: - Accurate aircraft control
- Improved stick and rudder coordination
- Accurate pitch control
- Increase awareness of energy management
- Broaden your understanding and knowledge of aerodynamics, specifically angle of attack and flight path management
- Develop your sensory inputs required to accurately predict changes in aircraft performance - "fly by the seat of your pants"
- Be more aware of drift during landing and how to correctly manipulate the controls to eliminate it. This is particularly useful for any pilot operating any type of aircraft with crosswind present on landing
- Just to name a few...
- What can you do with this endorsement?
- Operate a tailwheel (conventional) undercarriage aircraft. This opens up your world to some of the most unique aircraft around from vintage WW1 biplanes, WW2 fighter planes, agriculture aircraft and of course, bush aircraft.
